Masked suspect leaves knife behind after late night Penticton pizza shop robbery

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery at a pizza shop last week.

RCMP say staff at the business called 911 at around midnight on Thursday, June 13, after a man wearing a ski mask and dressed completely in black entered a Penticton pizza shop wielding a knife and a fireplace poker.

The suspect walked behind the counter where staff were making a pizza and threatened the female employee in the shop, according to an RCMP media release. The suspect got away with less than $100 and left the knife behind.

Police describe the suspect as 5'9" tall. He was wearing a ski mask, a long shirt, pants and gloves.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 and quote file number 2019-9326, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
