Authorities detain 24 members of a modeling network

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency is reporting authorities have detained 24 members of four organized “modeling and decadence networks” in Iran’s central Markazi province.

The Wednesday report said that the network was “involved in promoting a culture of nudity and modeling” by producing and publishing video clips. From time to time, Iran announces similar detentions.

Tasnim said the networks were active in the Markazi province.

It said authorities sealed off nine underground studios and women’s beauty salons, while 41 people were summoned and allowed to leave after a brief caution.

On Sunday, Iran detained 11 people in southeastern city of Zahedan accused of producing and publishing pornographic pictures on social media.

Earlier in May Iran said it detained several people active in modeling on social media.
