Suspicious Kamloops fire sends one person to hospital

KAMLOOPS – A suspicious fire in Westsyde has destroyed a mobile home and sent one person to the hospital.

At 3:40 a.m. Kamloops RCMP were notified of a fire in the 800 block of Grant Road. Kamloops Fire Rescue was on scene and had removed a woman from the home that had been entirely engulfed in flames, according to a press release.

The woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two male youth in the area were arrested by RCMP officers. It is unknown if they had any involvement in the fire.

Fire investigators will begin to examine the cause once the area is safe enough to do so.
