The City of Kamloops is hosting an Open House to provide the public with an opportunity to review concept plans for the new West Highlands Park in Aberdeen with City staff and provide input on what amenities should be included or excluded from the final design.
The Open House will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, in the Community Room at Aberdeen Elementary from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. City staff will be on hand to share ideas and consider input on the fourteen hectare park with its spectacular city view.
Amenities that will be provided in the Park include: two playing fields; rehabilitation of the existing clubhouse building for use as a community hall; expansion of parking spaces; a 1.7 km multi-use path; preservation of the existing pond; and rest stops overlooking both river valleys. The majority of the park is intended to be naturalized to minimize water use and maintenance.
If you are unable to attend but still would like to provide input, please fill out a comment form on the City of Kamloops website at www.kamloops.ca/parks/westhighlandspark.shtml.
