Trees cause large power outages near Kamloops, Salmon Arm

KAMLOOPS – Almost 2,000 BC Hydro customers in the Westsyde Road area near Sun Peaks are without power.

A crew has been assigned to respond to the outage caused by a tree that fell on wires, which was reported shortly after 1 p.m. BC Hydro said that 1,842 customers are impacted by the outage.

There is currently no estimated time for the power to return.

BC Hydro said that a crew has been assigned to a second outage impacting 596 near Salmon Arm on Highway 1. That outage occurred at 12:34 p.m.
