TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (13,731.90, down 173.22 points):
Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Oil and gas. Up 78 cents, or 18.31 per cent, to $5.04 on 22.9 million shares. The Calgary company’s shares soared after the Financial Times reported that Spanish oil group Repsol is in talks to acquire Talisman in a deal that could value the company’s equity at up to US$8 billion. It says the price being negotiated is in a range between $6 and $8 per share, which would represent a rich premium to Talisman’s closing share price of $4.26 on Thursday.
RMP Energy Inc. (TSX:RMP). Oil and gas. Down $1.75, or 4.12 per cent, to $40.75 on 13.7 million shares.
Mawson West Ltd. (TSX:MWE). Miner. Unchanged at 4.5 cents on six million shares.
Twin Butte Energy Ltd. (TSX:TBE). Oil and gas. Down five cents, or 6.17 per cent, to 76 cents on 5.3 million shares.
Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Miner. Down two cents, or 1.63 per cent to $1.21 on five million shares.
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Oil and gas. Down $1.07, or 3.12 per cent, to $33.17 on five million shares.

Amaya Inc. (TSX:AYA). Online gaming. Down $6.42, or 18.31 per cent, to $28.64 on four million shares. The company’s shares sank after Amaya confirmed that Quebec’s securities regulator has launched an investigation into trading activity surrounding the acquisition of PokerStars, which transformed it into the world’s largest online poker company.
