VERNON – Vernon SAR is presently fundraising for future Equipment required for search and rescue activities. A Christmas tree lot has been set up in the Village Green Inn parking lot and sales from 1 to 8 p.m. will be manned by Search and Rescue members.
On Friday Dec. 6 2013, 10 members of Vernon Search and Rescue responded to an assistance call near Enderby for the BC Ambulance Service and the RCMP Involving a badly injured Snowmobiler on Hunters Range. As the SAR crews responded they were informed that a BCAS helicopter was attempting a landing at the scene and subsequently the air crew flew the patient out. It is unknown to Vernon sar at this time, the extent of the man’s injuries.
