‘Star Wars’, ‘Skyfall’ actor Kan Bonfils dies during London theatre rehearsal

LONDON – Actor Kan Bonfils, who appeared in James Bond movie “Skyfall” and as a Jedi master in the “Star Wars” franchise, has died during a theatre rehearsal.

The actor was rehearsing for a stage production of “Dante’s Inferno,” due to open in a London theatre this week, when he collapsed Monday.

Chris Hislop, spokesman for the Craft Theater company, said Thursday that the play’s director performed CPR on Bonfils but the actor could not be resuscitated. He said the cause of death is not yet known.

Hislop was not able to confirm Bonfils’ age, which was reportedly 42.

Bonfils appeared as Jedi master Saesee Tiin in the 1999 film “Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.” Other credits include “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life” and “Batman Begins.”
