KAMLOOPS – Firefighters had their eye on a small sagebrush fire yesterday, located just west of Kenna Cartwright Park, but it was soon under control.
The fire, called in just after 2 p.m., was only 10X10 and producing white smoke. Increasing winds expected to gust up to 80 km/h were a concern as the flames ate up the abundance of dried grass and brush in the area.
The fire was out before last night's wind storm was in full swing.
A command vehicle, one fire engine and a brush truck are on scene.
