Christmas in custody for American teach accused of making child porn

VERNON  – It may have been a different story if his lawyer had shown up, but a Seattle teacher and ski coach accused of peeping on his female students will remain in custody over the holidays .

Jason Paur, 43, was scheduled for a bail hearing Dec. 18. He appeared by video conference but his lawyer didn’t appear at all and no one seemed sure who his lawyer is, so the hearing was put over to Jan. 8.

Paur was arrested in Vernon Dec. 10 after a group of female students found his video camera hidden in their room at Silver Star Mountain Resort. They were there on a school organized cross-country ski trip.

Paur has been charged with three counts of secretly observing or recording nudity in a private place, one count of accessing child pornography, one of possessing child pornography, and three counts of breaking and entering a dwelling with intent to commit an offence.
