Efforts underway to find dog lost along Coquihalla Highway

A non-profit animal rescue organization is hoping the public can help find a dog that bolted while in transport on the Coquihalla Highway Saturday afternoon.

Judanna Dawn with the Merritt-based Angel’s Animal Rescue says plans are to set a live trap today, Dec. 16, in the area of the Comstock exit on the Coquilhalla Highway. She’s hoping the public can help provide a location for the animal if spotted while travelling the highway.

“This dog is frightened and terrified, and can travel a long way when stressed like that,” Dawn says. “The more people looking for the dog the better."

The dog was just adopted from a location in Vancouver.

Sidney, the dog's owner who did not wish to provide her last name, said the dog was fearful of people and when she and her partner stopped at the Comstock exit for a rest break, the dog backed out of its harness and took off.

If people do see the dog, they can call Angel’s Animal Rescue at 250-378-5223.
