Woman drives truck into Salmon Arm medical clinic; one person injured
A woman drove her pickup truck into a medical clinic in Salmon Arm Thursday injuring one person.
Salmon Arm RCMP responded to a report about a vehicle that drove through the exterior wall of a medical clinic on Hudson Avenue NE around 1:33 p.m. on Feb. 27, according to a press release from police.
A 78-year-old woman in a red truck drove into the medical clinic and came to a stop when the car hit an interior wall.
The driver wasn’t injured, but a woman inside the clinic was hit and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Driver confusion appeared to be a major contributing factor in this incident. No criminality was suspected. There was potential for a lot more injuries, or worse in this incident. We wish the one injured woman a full recovery,” RCMP Const. Andrew Hodges said in the release.
Salmon Arm Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Services also responded to the crash.
