Kamloops RCMP say a motor vehicle incident involving a city bus this morning was the result of a pickup truck running a red light.
Police say they were called to the scene today, Jan. 24, just after 9:30 a.m. when a city bus was heading east on Seymour Street. When the bus began to cross 6 Avenue on a green light, a pickup truck heading north on 6 Avenue ran a red light and struck the bus.
The bus then veered off and hit an unattended SUV parked on the side of the road, according to an RCMP media release.
Police say both the driver of the bus and pickup truck were taken to a local medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.
No passengers on the bus reported injuries.
