SUMMERLAND – Icy winter water and hypothermia fans can rejoice tomorrow thanks to the Summerland Kinsmen 29th annual polar bear dip.
Typically, hundreds of people turn out every year at the Sun-Oka Beach to throw themselves into the frigid waters of Okanagan Lake. This year's event will have prizes for best costume and best group costume, prizes for oldest and youngest and the first 200 participants get a free T-shirt. Swimmers hit the water at noon. Expect hot dogs and hot chocolate for sale and a warm fire to warm up by.
