Sun Peaks to hold ‘Run for Ryan’ in support Ryan Shtuka’s family

A Kamloops area ski resort will be hosting a group ski run next month to mark the two year anniversary of Ryan Shtuka's disappearance.

A Run For Ryan will take place on Feb. 8 and will be an opportunity for the Sun Peaks community, guests and anyone wanting to show their support for Ryan and the Shtuka family, according to a post on the Sun Peaks Resort website.

“This February marks two years since Ryan Shtuka was reported missing from Sun Peaks,” the post reads. 

Anyone wanting to participate are asked to meet at the top of Sunburst Express chairlift at 3 p.m. to take part in the group ski down the 5 Mile run.

Participants are also invited to ride the Village Platter or Village Capet up to the Tube Park, where Ryan worked during his season in Sun Peaks.

Complimentary hot chocolate will be provided at the Tube Park. A valid lift ticket is required to access the Sunburst Express chairlift, village platter and village carpet.
