QUESNEL, B.C. – A truck driver has been airlifted to a Vancouver hospital after being run over by his own transport truck in the B.C. Interior.
Quesnel RCMP say the man left the cab of his truck to assess a situation when it had jackknifed on Highway 97 on Wednesday.
A second person agreed to help the man by driving the truck as the man issued directions.
Police say the victim lost his footing as the truck began to move and was accidentally run over by the trailer tires.
He was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries but police say he has been flown to Vancouver for further care.
RCMP say an investigation is also underway by WorkSafe BC, the agency responsible for creating safe and healthy work places in the province.
