Rockets win streak comes to an end in Vancouver

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Giants defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-2 on Friday night in Vancouver, snapping Kelowna's 16 game winning streak in the process.

The Giants scored three times in the second period en route to the win with Jackson Houck doing most of the damage with three goals.

The loss is just the Rockets fourth in regulation this season and ends a 16 game winning streak, as well as a team-record 16 game road winning streak.

The 16 game winning streak came on the heels of Kelowna's nine game streak, snapped by Victoria. In total the Rockets have won 25 of its past 27 games to catapult to the top of the WHL standings.

Justin Kirkland and Ryan Olsen had the lone Kelowna goals on Friday in the first of a home and home set between the two teams.

Jackson Whistle suffered the loss in net.

Kelowna and Vancouver will hit the ice at Prospera Place on Saturday night in the rematch.
