Kelowna RCMP on hunt for suitcase-toting suspect who spat in woman’s face

Kelowna police officers are asking for the public's assistance to find a man who allegedly spat in a woman's face.

On March 1, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a man was at the corner of Harvey Avenue and Spall Road in Kelowna when he reportedly witnessed a pedestrian approach a beige coloured Toyota Corolla-style car that was waiting at the lights, according to an RCMP news release.

The suspect confronted the woman who was driving and allegedly spat in her face, before walking westbound on Harvey Avenue, RCMP said.

The complainant followed and confronted the suspect, who allegedly produced and brandished a small knife. The suspect fled the area on foot and was not found by the police.

"The suspect was described as a clean cut middle-aged man, seen wearing brown cowboy boots, blue jeans and a grey hoody while dragging a purple suitcase," Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in the release.

Kelowna RCMP are looking to speak with car's driver who was allegedly assaulted by this man, and any other witnesses who observed this incident and have not yet spoken to police.
