Driver flips brand new Corvette onto its roof in Kamloops
The owner of a brand new luxury vehicle flipped it in Kamloops last night.
Around 6:30 p.m. yesterday, April 16, Kamloops Fire Rescue, RCMP and paramedics responded to the call of a Corvette flipped on its roof at 1450 Springhill Drive.
Troy Grant, platoon captain with Kamloops Fire Rescue, says the car sheared a fire hydrant during the accident. He says it is not yet clear as to what caused the vehicle to flip.
“I knew it was a brand new Corvette,” Grant says. “All I can say is it left the road and ended up on the roof.”
When the first responders arrived the driver and passenger were out of the car. Neither driver or passenger required medical treatment after being checked out by paramedics.
“Rescue One determined no one was trapped in the car, both occupants were standing on the sidewalk, and fire crews made sure the car was fire safe,” Grant says.
