WILD WEDNESDAY: Doe and fawn stroll past trail camera, as do two of their predators

Every Wednesday, WildSafeBC releases a video highlighting local animals. This week, they’ve shared some trail camera footage that captured three very different species.

First, a mule deer doe and her fawn can be seen wandering in view of a camera in the daylight. The next animal featured is a black bear, and WildSafeBC notes that a fawn would be an ideal meal for the omnivore.

As night falls, an injured coyote is seen limping into the area and checking out its surroundings. WildSafeBC notes the coyote might have been injured while trying to take down a fawn because a doe can be very protective.

WildSafeBC reminds people to give does plenty of space, and to keep dogs leashed and a safe distance away from the animals. Does may show aggression if their fawns are threatened.
