Lake Country pub set to reopen after employee tests negative for COVID-19

A popular Lake Country pub is reopening its doors after a brief closure due to a possible COVID-19 exposure.

Turtle Bay Pub announced via Facebook that it would close down temporarily as one of its employees waited for COVID-19 test results this week.

That employee has tested negative for the virus, so the pub will reopen tomorrow, July 26 at 11 a.m. following a cleaning of the establishment, according to Turtle Bay's Facebook page.

"We appreciate the outpouring of support in our decision to close as we awaited the results. Even more so, we appreciate those of you who have taken your own precautions to keep others safe, until hearing back from us," reads the pub's latest statement.

Other restaurants in the Central Okanagan have also reopened after closing temporarily due to possible COVID-19 exposures. In Kelowna, Browns Socialhouse, the Train Station Pub and Rustic Reel Brewing Co. all have reopened.

Interior Health has reported a total of 319 COVID-19 cases so far during the pandemic with four new cases reported yesterday, July 24.
