Starbucks implements mask-wearing policy for customers

Starbucks today announced beginning on Sept. 14, it will require customers to wear facial coverings while visiting all company-owned café locations in Canada.

"At select locations where local government mandate is not in place, customers that may not be wearing a facial covering will have various options to order their Starbucks, including ordering at the drive-thru, curbside pickup through the Starbucks app or placing an order for delivery through Starbucks Delivers," the Starbucks statement reads.

The company says its committed to playing "a constructive role in supporting health and government officials as they work to mitigate the spread of COVID-19." 

They already required masks in areas where they'd been mandated by government, which was not B.C.

The company also instituted elevated cleaning and sanitizing protocols that meet or exceed public health guidelines and can help to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Also, prior to beginning every shift, all partners complete a pre-check, including safety precautions such as taking their temperature, to ensure they are ready and able to work. Partners are also required to wear facial coverings during their shifts and continue to frequently wash their hands. They also have the option to wear gloves.
