Halloween is alive and well at Penticton’s Hoodoo Adventures

Halloween is happening at Penticton’s Hoodoo Adventures this year.

The downtown adventure company is creating “Boodoo’s Haunted Adventure" at its headquarters at 131 Ellis Street which it bills as “family friendly, spooky fun.”

The event includes a spooky story to share as the Hoodoo Adventures building is turned into a haunted adventure.

"We are spreading all the kids out over the whole day so we can follow all the health and safety guidelines we would normally follow and we will be able to get quite a few kids through, over the entire day in a very safe manner,” Hoodoo Adventure co-owner Lyndie Hill says.

If all available time slots sell out, more spots will be considered in order so kids don’t miss out on the adventure.

Parents can join their kids in the haunted climbing gym during one hour time slots set up through the day on Oct. 31, but everyone is expected to wear costumes and masks.

Those participating will learn the story of Boodoo’s Haunted Adventure before collecting creepy crawlies.

"Participants better beware, you just don't know what could be lurking in the corners, but don't worry, it'll be worth your bravery because at the end of the adventure those creepy crawlies will be handed in in return for Halloween treats!” Hoodoo Adventures Event Coordinator Nathalie Long says.

Boodoo’s Haunted Adventure has limited spaces available, so it’s recommended to book your time fast. Cost is $15 and includes one hour of climbing, spooky themed activities in the haunted building, and Halloween treats.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. My goal in the news industry has always been to deliver accurate and interesting articles about local people and places. My interest in the profession is life long - from my earliest memories of grade school, I have enjoyed writing.
As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
