
What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan, Kamloops
There are several events planned in Thompson-Okanagan region this Thanksgiving weekend.
Here are the top five events happening this long weekend, Oct. 10, 11, 12 and 13 you can’t miss across Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, and Kamloops.
KELOWNA
- Fall Family Festival – Stop by Don-O-Ray’s Farm Adventure on Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a community event featuring mazes, a petting zoo, archery, and more. The event is free with registration.
- Fall Fest Harvest Market and Outdoor Concert – Visit the Grizzli Winery on Oct. 11 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for an evening of this annual event for the whole family (including pets) in an autumn vineyard with face painting, apple bobbing, crafts, and more.
- Stress-Free Holidays: The Ultimate Turkey Dinner – Lakehouse Kitchens Cooking School will show you a guided demonstration of easy and effective techniques for your Thanksgiving meal on Oct. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $125 each.
- Annual East Kelowna Gratitude Market – Enjoy local artisans, crafters, makers and bakers at the East Kelowna Hall on Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Entry is free.
- Thanksgiving Dinner – Skip the cooking with The Hatching Post’s Thanksgiving Dinner on Oct. 12 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner is $29 per person.
VERNON
- Harvest Market at the Silverstar Veggies Pumpkin Patch – We covered more about this local farm here, but for a quick refresh you can enjoy this Pumpkin Patch and market on Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Silverstar Veggies. Entry is free.
- Boo-Keefe Ranch Haunted House – The Historic O’Keefe Ranch is known for its Field of Screams event, but there is also a family-friendly alternative for those looking to add a spooky edge to their Thanksgiving weekend. This weekend, it will be open Oct. 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The Vernon Thanksgiving Community Drumming Experience – Vernon Elks Lodge No 45 will host a fully interactive and immersive drumming workshop on Oct. 11 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices vary but begin at $24.50
- Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet – Stop by The Edge Restaurant at The Rise Resort on Oct. 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a Sunday brunch before the big Thanksgiving day. Adults eat for $75 each. Reservations are recommended.
- Friendsgiving Buffet – On Oct. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a full Thanksgiving dinner with carved proteins, hot mains, pie, and more. It’s located at the Range Restaurant, Bar and Patio at Predator Ridge Resort. Dinner is $60+ tax per person Limited tickets are available.
PENTICTON
- Flash Tattoo Pop Up at Neighbourhood Brewing – Celebrate the holiday with a new tattoo at Neighbourhood Brewing on Oct. 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Flat tattoos in fifteen minute sessions range from $80 to $100 per tattoo.
- The Apple Bin Corn Maze – Check out this family focused event at 9th Ave, Okanagan Falls on Oct. 11 and 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a new maze layout, local produce, and more. Tickets are $5 each.
- Oktoberfest at Abandoned Rail Brewing – Stop by Abandoned Rail Brewing on Oct. 11 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a German spin to your Thanksgiving weekend. There will even be a a stein holding contest and a keg toss contest.
- Thanksgiving Dinner – The Barley Mill Pub is hosting Thanksgiving dinner on Oct. 12, starting at 5 p.m. Grab a three course meal for $38 each or a one course for $28. Reservations are recommended.
- Penticton Vees – Grab two hockey games for your Thanksgiving weekend on Oct. 11 and 13 at The South Okanagan Events Centre. The Saturday game is Penticton Vees vs. Kelowna Rockets and starts at 6:05 p.m. Monday’s game is Penticton Vees vs Victoria Royals and starts early to accommodate your family dinner at 2 p.m. Adult tickets are $26 each and youth are $10.
KAMLOOPS
- Stoney Flats Harvest Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze – Stoney Flats Harvest is hosting its fourth annual pumpkin patch until Oct. 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Admission is free.
- Pete Murray’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze – Looking for another pumpkin patch to try? Pete Murray’s Corn Farm, located at 5973 VLA Road, is open daily until the end of Oct. from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Canada Soccer’s 2025 National Championships U-17 Cup – Head to McArthur Island Park on Oct. 10, 11, 12, and 13 at varying times to catch these soccer games. Exhibition games are free, semi-final and final games are $15+taxes and fees.
- Women of the Fur Trade, Western Canada Theatre – Grab a seat for this fun show at the Sagebrush Theatre on Oct. 10, 11, and 12 at varying times to get a new perspective on the fur trade. Tickets start at $25 each and the show is recommended for ages 13+
- Kamloops Storm Hockey – Watch a home game of the Kamloops’ Storm vs the 100 Mile House’s Wranglers on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m, located at the McArthur Island Sports Centre. Tickets are $16 each.
