Centres MacKinnon, Bedard, Carlsson named NHL’s three stars of the week

NEW YORK — Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon, Chicago Blackhawks centre Connor Bedard and Anaheim Ducks centre Leo Carlsson are the NHL’s three stars of the week.

MacKinnon had 10 points (four goals, six assists) in three games to move into the scoring lead with 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 16 games.

He had two goals and two assists in a 9-1 win at Edmonton on Saturday and capped the week with two goals and three assists in a 5-4 overtime win at Vancouver on Sunday.

Bedard had three goals and seven assists over four games as the Blackhawks won three games and moved into third place in the Central Division.

The No. 1 pick from the 2023 NHL Draft, ranks third in the league with 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) through 16 games.

Carlsson had five goals and four assists and recorded multiple points in all four games for the Pacific Division-leading Ducks, who stretched their winning streak to seven games.
