Kamloops RCMP rescue abducted woman; suspect in custody

Kamloops RCMP spread out around town to search for a woman who was abducted on Monday. Police found her and arrested a suspect after several hours.

Police received a report that a man forced a woman into a vehicle in the Dallas area around noon, Dec. 22, according to a press release from police.

Kamloops RCMP and the South East District Emergency Response Team was near the 700-block of Seymour Street to investigate.

Police used RCMP Air Services along with other support units to try to find the abducted woman.

The suspect vehicle fled east and was later found at a gas station in the 1200-block of Dallas Drive.

Police arrested the driver and found the woman safe.

“This was a swift response to a serious report of a person being abducted,” Kamloops RCMP Supt. Jeff Pelley said in the release.

“This took significant coordination with many support units assisting in a dynamic unfolding event to bring this to a safe conclusion.”

The driver is still in custody and police anticipate charge recommendations.

The investigation is ongoing and the RCMP said it isn’t going to release more information.

Anyone with information has been asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2025-42110.
