What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan and Kamloops

Welcome to 2026! Start the new year off right with these events across Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops.

KELOWNA

  • Comics Go Green – Start 2026 with some laughs on Jan. 2 from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Dakodas Comedy Lounge. Tickets are $22 each.
  • Dog Disco: New Years Pawty! – Get your pups in on the new year celebration on Jan. 3 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at So Fetch. Tickets are $15 per dog.
  • Wine & Laughs – The laughter continues at Dakodas Comedy Lounge on Jan. 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $22 each.
  • Rutland Flea Market – After a break for the holidays, this weekly market is back on Jan. 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rutland Centennial Hall. Entry is free.
  • NFL Football Sundays – Head to Red Bird Brewing to enjoy NFL on the big screen and giveaways on Jan. 4 from 11 p.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free.

VERNON

  • A Midwinter Night’s Dream – This is the final weekend to enjoy this winter sleigh ride show, so make sure to grab tickets while they last on Jan. 2 and 3 at the Caravan Farm Theatre. Tickets are $63 each.
  • City LOVE Scavenger Hunt – Grab a date and explore Vernon on Jan. 2, 3, and 4 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are by donation, with a recommended amount of $20.
  • Full Moon Dinner – Dance, eat, and drink under the full moon on Jan. 3 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Enderby Drill Hall. Tickets are $55 each.

PENTICTON

  • Dinosaurs of BC – Step back in time this weekend, Jan. 2, 3, and 4 until Mar. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Penticton Museum & Archives. Entry is by donation.
  • Live Music ft. Matt Rands Collective – Kick off the new year with two evenings of local, powerful music at The Hub On Martin on Jan. 2 and 3, starting at 9 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge.
  • MysticaFair: New Year’s Psychic Fair – Don’t guess at how you’re 2026 will go, get some answers from psychics on Jan. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Jan. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Penticton Sandman Inn. Entry is $5.

KAMLOOPS

  • Festival of Trees – This is your last chance to see the stunning Christmas trees and vote on your favourite at the Delta Hotel from Jan. 2 to Jan. 5. Entry is free.
  • When Spirits Dance – Check out this art exhibit by Raluchukwu Ojah before Jan. 10 when it will be leaving the Kamloops Art Gallery for good. Entry is $5 for adults.
  • Snowed In Comedy Tour – Fill your weekend with the comedic delights of Dan Quinn, Paul Myrehaug, Pete Zedlacher, and Erica Sigurdson on Jan. 2 and 3, starting at 7:30 p.m., at the Sagebrush Theatre. Tickets are $65.
