Canada’s Oldham, Gaskell grab silver, bronze in freeski slopestyle World Cup

ASPEN — Canada’s Megan Oldham and Elena Gaskell were both medallists in the women’s freestyle skiing slopestyle World Cup event on Friday.

Oldham took silver with a score of 73.02, while Gaskell grabbed bronze with 72.90.

Great Britain’s Kirsty Muir snagged gold with 80.62.

It’s just the second World Cup event and first medal of the season for Oldham of Parry Sound, Ont.

The 24-year-old finished fourth in Austria on Nov. 22.

It’s also the first World Cup medal of the campaign for the 24-year-old Gaskell from Vernon, B.C.
