Suspect arrested for unwanted physical contact with women in Kamloops

A 52-year-old man was arrested and released from custody Thursday in connection to reports from women of unwanted physical contact in Kamloops.

The suspect was arrested, Jan. 15, and released on an undertaking with strict conditions, according to an RCMP media release, including restrictions on contacting the complainants and being in specific areas of the city.

Police received reports, Jan. 3 and Jan. 13, from women walking on the Peterson Creek trails. In both cases, the suspect tried to talk to the women and then “initiated unsolicited physical contact,” RCMP said.

The investigation is still active. No charges have been laid.

Anyone who may have had similar interactions with the suspect, or who may have witnessed the incidents, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250‑828‑3000.
