Veteran defensive lineman Dylan Wynn agrees in principle to deal with Redblacks

The Ottawa Redblacks agreed in principle to a contract with American defensive lineman Dylan Wynn on Monday.

The move came on the second day of the CFL’s negotiation window. After a flurry of deals when the window opened Sunday, the pace slowed noticeably on Monday.

Wynn, 32, spent the last two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes. He had 20 tackles and a sack in 14 regular-season games in 2025.

The six-foot-one, 290-pound Wynn enters his ninth CFL season, having also spent time previously with Toronto (2017-18) and Hamilton (2019, 2021-23). He won a Grey Cup with the Argos in 2017.

Wynn has appeared in 107 regular-season CFL games, recording 211 tackles and 30 sacks. Wynn was a CFL all-star in 2019 and All-CFL East Division nominee three times (2017, ’19, ’21).

Before joining the Argos, Wynn spent two seasons with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns (2015-16).

The negotiation window opened Sunday, allowing teams to contact and make binding, registered and non-retractable offers to pending free agents. It will close next Sunday, after which clubs have a 48-hour period to speak with their own pending free agents.

Before free agency officially opens Feb. 10, players have the right to accept any offer made to them. If they opt not to accept any, they can become free agents and previous binding offers will no longer be valid.

In another move, the Calgary Stampeders agreed to terms with receiver Dejon Brissett. The 29-year-old Mississauga, Ont., native had 65 catches for 907 yards with three TDs last season with Toronto after being named the top Canadian in the Argos’ Grey Cup win over Winnipeg in 2024.

Brissett spent five seasons with Toronto, winning his first Grey Cup in 2022.
