He’s sold more than 25 million albums, has had 21 nominations and multiple Grammy Award wins and he’s bringing his legendary Bakersfield sound to Penticton.

Dwight Yoakam will perform at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, Sunday, June 28, with tickets going on sale next week.

Yoakam’s catalog includes 12 gold albums, and nine platinum or multi-platinum releases. Five of those topped the Billboard Country Albums chart with 14 in the Top 10.

Some of those big hits include Guitars, Cadillacs, A Thousand Miles from Nowhere and Fast as You.

His new album, Brighter Days, was released in 2024.

And that’s just his music.

The country music icon has also appeared in more than 40 movies including Sling Blade and Panic Room.

Tickets for the concert, which start at $65 plus fees, go on sale Friday, March 27, at the Valley First Box Office here.
