The do not consume advisory has been lifted in West Kelowna after a vandalism incident last week.
The City of West Kelowna along with Interior Health and the RCMP rescinded the advisory for Tallus Ridge and Shannon Woods in the Rose Valley Water Service Area, according to a press release from the city issued this afternoon, March 24.
The Tallus Ridge Reservoir was intentionally damaged last week causing the city to advise people not to drink the water.
The RCMP identified suspects and said they are helping with the ongoing investigation, but no arrests have been made.
The reservoir has since been cleaned and inspected, and the city didn’t find any contamination so it can be refilled to restart supplying water later this week.
The Shannon Woods Reservoir is going to supply water until the Tallus Ridge Reservoir is back in service.
The city said that it has increased security measures for the reservoir as well.
“The City of West Kelowna extends its appreciation to the RCMP for their investigative work and thanks affected customers for their patience and cooperation throughout this event,” the city said in the release.
