KELOWNA – A prolific offender is behind bars after a raid by the heavily armed RCMP Emergency Response Team at a home in Rutland Thursday morning.
The ERT was backing up members of the Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Team as they executed a search warrant at the home in the 200 block of Dougall Road North.
Police slapped cuffs on 4 women and 2 men found in the house.
A search turned up a loaded Tokarev 7.62 caliber handgun and a replica Beretta handgun.
Equipment capable of cloning credit cards was discovered.
Police also found a variety of drugs, everything from pot to steroids and sedatives to painkillers.
Small quantities of methadone, marijuana, methamphetamine, oxycodone, apo-temasepan, steroids, Percocet and clonazepam were seized.
Jesse McKnight, 25, of Kelowna is facing a number of firearm charges and was scheduled to appear in court Friday. RCMP deem McKnight a prolific offender.
The 4 women and 19-year-old Penticton man arrested in the raid were charged and have been released.
