A drug dealer with connections to organized crime on the Lower Mainland was caught in Kelowna last month.
Officers with the Kelowna Gang Enforcement Team were patrolling in the area around KLO Road and Benvoulin Road on April 28, when they “engaged” with a person in park vehicle, according to an RCMP media release issued, May 4.
The officers found a conceal weapon on the suspect and they were arrested.
A search of the vehicle turned up a hidden compartment and officers found 731 grams of illicit drugs including cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with a cell phone and roughly $3,000 in cash, all of which were seized along with the vehicle.
The suspect was later released from custody.
