Police investigating Vancouver’s fourth homicide in 2026 after man dies in stabbing

VANCOUVER — Police in Vancouver say a man has been killed in a stabbing that’s being classified as the city’s fourth homicide this year.

Vancouver police say the attack happened at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in an area near East Hastings and Columbia streets.

Officers responded to the scene after a call from a witness, but police say the 49-year-old victim died after being taken to hospital.

Police say two people — a man and a woman — have been arrested but no charges have been laid in the case.

No further details on the circumstances surrounding the attack have been released.

Police are urging any witnesses and those with information on the case to come forward.
