Stratford Festival in southwestern Ontario launches behind-the-scenes app
STRATFORD, Ont. – Theatre lovers who can’t get to the renowned Stratford Festival in southwestern Ontario can still get an insider’s experience through its new app.
The “Stratford Behind the Scenes” app promises to offer never-before-seen photos and video showing festival productions from concept through creation to performance.
Featured are performers, coaches, directors and artisans in various settings that are generally closed to public view.
The fest says the footage will show productions through the festival’s entire season and reveal the secrets of theatrical production, including set building and wig making.
Executive director Anita Gaffney says the app brings a wider audience to the festival’s popular backstage tours.
The Stratford Behind the Scenes iPad app is now available for $9.99 through the App Store.
The festival says a PlayBook version will be released soon.
