Body found in New Westminster suite after neighbours report possible gunfire
NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. – A man has been found dead in a basement suite in New Westminster, B.C., and police say the incident appears suspicious.
Sgt. Diana McDaniel says officers were called to the suite just after 6 a.m. Thursday.
She says witnesses reported hearing what they believed were as many as five gunshots.
Police were on the scene within minutes and McDaniel says the man’s body was in the apartment.
She can’t confirm how he died but notes homicide investigators have not yet been called.
The victim has not been identified, although McDaniel says more details could be released later. (CKNW)
