Kitchener man faces 1st-degree murder charge in death of woman whose torso found

WATERLOO, Ont. – A Kitchener man is facing a murder charge in the death of a 24-year-old woman whose torso was found in a garbage bin in the southwestern Ontario city.

Police say a 37-year-old man is to be charged with first-degree murder and committing an indignity to a dead human body when he appears in court today.

Waterloo regional police say the man was arrested in Kitchener just before 4 a.m. this morning without incident.

A torso later identified as the remains of Kelsey Louise Felker was found in a trash bin last Saturday in Kitchener.

Police say no other arrests are anticipated but the investigation continues.
