Mountie and driver have minor injuries after cruiser clips vehicle

LANGLEY, B.C. – A Mountie who was responding to a traffic violation in Langley, B.C., ended up crashing his cruiser into an SUV.

RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks says the officer and the occupant of the SUV were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

She says a preliminary investigation suggests the officer was travelling westbound on the Langley Bypass when he attempted to turn.

Instead, he clipped another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

The police car sustained most of the damage.

Police are encouraging anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
