EDMONTON – Brad Gushue of Newfoundland and Labrador is still unbeaten at the Canadian men’s curling championship.
His St. John’s team downed Jamie Koe of the Territories 7-3 to top the standings at 7-0.
Defending champion Glenn Howard of Ontario was also undefeated at 6-0, and both teams had a game at night.
The top four teams at the conclusion of the round robin Friday advance to the Page playoff. Ties for fourth are solved by tiebreaker games.
Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs scored three in the seventh end en route to a 6-4 win over Quebec’s Jean-Michel Menard.
Both teams were 5-2 ahead of New Brunswick’s James Grattan at 4-3.
Grattan scored three in the 10th end for an 8-6 win over Eddie MacKenzie of Prince Edward Island.
Saskatchewan’s Brock Virtue, a 7-2 winner over Paul Flemming of Nova Scotia, was tied at 3-4 with the Territories. P.E.I. and Nova Scotia were 0-7.
