UK jury convicts Huhne’s ex-wife of obstructing justice in speeding ticket case

LONDON – The ex-wife of a former U.K. Cabinet minister has been convicted of perverting the course of justice for taking her husband’s speeding penalty in 2003.

Vicky Pryce had claimed her husband, Chris Huhne, coerced her into taking the penalty for the speeding violation.

Huhne, who had previously denied wrongdoing, pleaded guilty to the same charge last month. He resigned as a U.K. lawmaker the same day he pleaded guilty.

The 60-year-old Pryce was found guilty in a retrial Thursday by a jury at London’s Southwark Crown Court. A previous jury had failed to reach a verdict. The date for Pryce’s sentencing hasn’t been scheduled yet. She faces a prison sentence.

She and Huhne split in 2010 after his affair with his public relations adviser was revealed.
