Winnipeg police charge alleged serial killer Shawn Lamb with 2011 sex attack

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police have charged an accused serial killer with a sex attack that is alleged to have happened two years ago.

Shawn Lamb was to appear in court to face the new charge of sexual assault with a weapon.

The offence is alleged to have taken place between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011.

The drifter was charged last June with second-degree murder in the deaths of three missing aboriginal women.

Two of their bodies were found wrapped in plastic near garbage bins.

Police believe the body of the third woman was dumped a garbage bin; they searched a section of a city landfill but found no remains.
