Canadian women’s team star Wickenheiser to be re-evaulated before game

OTTAWA – Canadian captain Hayley Wickenheiser has an upper-body injury and will be re-evaluated Wednesday before Canada’s game against Switzerland at the women’s world hockey championship according to Hockey Canada.

Wickenheiser skated to the bench and walked to the dressing room in the second period of Canada’s 3-2 shootout win over the United States on Tuesday night.

The Canadian team’s all-time leading scorer did not return.

Canada trailed 2-0 when Wickenheiser left the game but rallied for the shootout victory.
