Jays slugger Bautista misses series opener with Red Sox to rest sore ankle
TORONTO – Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista sat out Friday’s game against the Boston Red Sox to rest his right ankle.
The outfielder tweaked the ankle legging out a double play in the eighth inning of a 10-8 win over Cleveland on Thursday. He did not appear in the ninth inning, saying later it was nothing serious.
Rajai Davis replaced him in right field Friday.
