Hamilton man charged with child porn after police receive info from Australia

HAMILTON – Police say information gathered in Australia has led to the arrest of a 51-year-old Hamilton man on a child pornography charge.

Australian authorities determined that a Canadian resident, living in Hamilton, was responsible for sending child porn images over the Internet.

Information provided to police led investigators to a central Hamilton home where a search warrant was executed in February and a child was removed.

That led police to a second home where computers were seized, and a forensic examination of those devices led to the arrest of the Hamilton man on Friday morning.

The man is charged with possession of child pornography but isn’t being identified to protect the identity of alleged child victims.
