VANCOUVER – New Democrats in British Columbia are jumping the gun on the upcoming election campaign by releasing details on the cost of their election platform.
The 28-day election campaign officially kicks off on Tuesday, and British Columbians will cast their ballots on May 14.
But the NDP says Bruce Ralston, MLA for Surrey-Whalley, and Carole James, MLA for Victoria-Beacon Hill, will release the details this morning at Simon Fraser University’s Harbour Centre.
The announcement comes just days after Premier Christy Clark revealed she’ll lay out her platform in a television address on Sunday.
The NDP has come under fire from the Liberals recently for failing to release details about their platform, especially as it relates to proposed budgets.
New Democrats finalized candidate selection in all 85 B.C. ridings last weekend.
