Aurizon stock down 11% after reporting breach at tailings pond at Quebec mine

VANCOUVER – Stock in Aurizon Mines Ltd. (TSX:ARZ) is down more than 11 per cent a day after the tailings dike at its Casa Berardi gold mine in Quebec suffered a breach. Aurizon says most of the material in the tailings pond remained inside the containment area, adding that there had been no further discharges and that operations at the mine were not disrupted. However, the company’s stock was still down 47 cents, or 11.11 per cent, at $3.76 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
