Police respond to report of hostage-taking at Edmonton courthouse
EDMONTON – Edmonton police are responding to reports of a hostage-taking at the courthouse.
Spokeswoman Leila (LYE’-lah) Daoud (DOWD) says the call came in shortly before noon.
She says she can’t confirm who is involved, but the CBC is reporting that a prisoner has taken another hostage.
Daoud says tactical officers and negotiators are on scene as well as paramedics.
