Toronto police search farm of man charged in Hamilton test drive killing

TORONTO – Toronto homicide investigators are searching a family farm owned by a man charged in the death of a Hamilton father who disappeared after taking two men on a test drive.

Const. Wendy Drummond says police are executing a search warrant at the family farm of Dellen Millard and that it is in relation to the Toronto police involvement in the Tim Bosma case.

She had no other details and said there were no immediate plans to release any further information.

Drummond would not say if the search was related to the disappearance of Laura Babcock, a Toronto woman who has been linked to Millard.

Earlier this month, Toronto police said they were reopening their investigation into Babcock’s disappearance.

Millard, 27, is facing charges of first-degree murder, forcible confinement and theft of a vehicle in the death of Bosma, who did not return after leaving his home May 6 for the test drive of a truck he was trying to sell online.

His remains were later found burned beyond recognition at Millard’s farm in Waterloo Region.

Another man, Mark Smich, 25, is also charged with first-degree murder in the Bosma case.
