Angels slugger Josh Hamilton scratched from game against Dodgers because of back spasms

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles Angels slugger Josh Hamilton has been scratched from the second game of the Freeway Series against the Dodgers because of back spasms.

The Angels announced just before the start of Tuesday night’s game at Dodger Stadium that Hamilton was out of the lineup.

He was replaced in right field by Mark Trumbo, who moved from left field, where J.B. Shuck was set to play.

Hamilton is batting .222 with eight home runs and 18 RBIs. He had driven in six runs over the previous seven games.
